SAFE ENVIRONMENTS

Our Syriac catholic diocese is committed to providing outreach to anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse currently or in the past, and to cooperate with civil authorities and be transparent if such allegations come forth. This is why we have established a Safe Environments Office, to provide outreach and to ensure that all parishes are conforming to the U.S. Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.

Sexual abuse is a crime that must be reported, investigated, and dealt with accordingly to protect victims/survivors and stop abusers. The Syriac Catholic Diocese of Our Lady of Deliverance is firmly committed to protecting the innocent and will cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies investigating allegations of abuse. The Diocese will also provide necessary legal, psychological, and spiritual help to victims/survivors. For more information or to inquire about counseling and support, contact the Victim Assistance Coordinator (VAC).

WAYS TO REPORT

If you have any information or suspicion concerning sexual abuse (or any abuse) of children/youth or vulnerable adults, report it immediately to the Victim Assistance Coordinator (VAC), Sean McLaughlin

If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 right away.
